The national day of reflection was a great time to remember those we have lost and reflect on a difficult year. I believe it is also a great opportunity to learn how to self-reflect. We can use this to not only reflect on a difficult year, but also our day to day experiences.
TRY THIS MODEL OF REFECTION:
🖊Description - what happened?
🖊Feelings - how did you feel?
🖊Evaluation - what was good/bad?
🖊Conclusion - how could it have been better?
🖊Action plan - what will you do in the future?

WHY SHOULD WE SELF-REFLECT?
🪞Confidence - Allows you to explore your strengths. It also helps increase self awareness, optimism and positivity due to increased knowledge and perspective.
🪞Clarity - Helps provide order to your thoughts allowing lessons to be learned from your observations and experiences. Self reflection also forces you to view the bigger picture resulting in improved decision making - responding rather than reacting.
🪞Development - Self reflection keeps the focus on your goals. It also helps you identify weaknesses allowing you to form an action plan to overcome them, improving your future outcomes.
Take 5 mins to try it on something you’ve experienced today....
